PAY RANGE:

 KGS-7: Between 21,093 and 30,436 Won per hour

KGS-09: Between 25,759 and 37,318 won per hour

TOUR OF DUTY: 40 hours per week

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current USFK KN employees assigned in AFAS-K and serviced by Civilian Human Resources Agency - Far East Region

 

NOTE: 1. Target grade of this position is KGS-9. If the position is filled at the lower grade than target grade, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to target grade non-competitively upon satisfactory completion of the job requirements, recommendation by the supervisor, and subject to meeting time-in-grade and qualification requirements. 2. Under the Yongsan Relocation Plan (YRP), individual moves of the selectee from Area II to other Areas will be authorized by the YRP moving services processes as stipulated in Civilian Human Resources Transformation Guidance.

 

MAJOR DUTIES: 

  KGS-9: Performs a variety of professional operating and/or cost accounting work, requiring the application of

accounting principles, theories and practices. Directs and/or conducts the day-to-day operations of an entire

accounting system for a small to medium and intermediate level organization with a single installation and

program, or a specialized accounting function concerning a single bases, depot or post such as stock fund or

financial inventory accounting for all activities within the jurisdiction of a medium military headquarters. Prepares

accounting and financial statements, reports and other information of a factual nature. Includes such data as cost

reports, cash ratios and the interrelations of accounting and cost budgeting and other accounting data. Provides interpretations of accounting reports, statements and data, which point out trends, identifying deviations from

standards and/or plans, projecting data into the future. Confers with accountants as leads to gain support for

approach and analysis. Computes, estimates, or predicts the effect of proposed changes in the operating

programs on accounting operations and service or on operational costs, income and expenditures. Establishes

and maintains liaison with technical and operating officials concerned to ascertain their needs for accounting data. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

EXPERIENCE:

KGS-7: One year of professional experience at grade level of KGS-5 or equivalent.

KGS-9:  One year of professional experience at grade level of KGS-7 or equivalent.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Experience which required application of the professional theories, scientific

principles, and practices in the established profession of the position to be filled. Professional positions require

professional, rather than technical knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) such as can be gained through intensive

college education and training. 

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have completed a full 4-year course of study in a ROKG authorized

or recognized college or university in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public

administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.

 

 

ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: The approval of management panel to determine English conversational skill is required.

 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Each full academic year of graduate education in

a field related to the position being filled may be substituted for one year of specialized experience up to a

maximum of 2 years graduate education for 2 years specialized experience. A master’s degree in an

appropriate field is fully qualifying for directly related to KGS-09 positions.
