PAY RANGE:  

KGS-9: Between 24,627 Won and 35,662 Won

 

TOUR OF DUTY:  40 hours per week

 

AREA OF CONSIDERATION:  All current USFK KN employees

NOTE:  1. This position requires drug testing. The selectee must sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in drug testing as a condition of employment prior to appointment. 2. This position has been designated as essential to the basic military missions or safety and protection of human life and property under the SOFA Joint Committee Memorandum of 29- Aug-1974, at the 97th SOFA Joint Committee meeting. The occupant of this position is prohibited from participation in any collective labor disruptive actions.  Participation in such action will constitute grounds for disciplinary actions as provided under the provision of USFK 690-1, USFK-KEU Labor Management Agreement, and Article XVII of the SOFA.  3. Relocation Allowance will NOT be authorized for the selectee from outside the commuting area.  4.  Shift work, weekend and holiday work may be required.  5.  Applicants applying under this vacancy announcement may be converted from temporary to permanent without further competition.  6.  This position has been designated as KN mission essential position.  KN ME position agreement Form (USFK Form 200EK) must be signed prior to appointment of the selectee of the position.

MAJOR DUTIES:  

KGS-09: Performs patient care for all age groups in the assigned area through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation. Assists with the organization, coordination and delivery of nursing care to groups of patients in compliance with hospital departmental policies, protocols, procedures and regulatory agencies. Applies knowledge of patients' age and cultural diversity in the care provided to patients. Provides direct patient care by monitoring physiological and psychosocial status, evaluating progress and effectiveness of interventions, performing treatments and procedures. Participates in the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement initiatives 4 principle of safe patient care. Documents records in accordance with established policies, procedures. Supports the organization vision and mission.  Obtains patient's history, performs health screenings, collects and records data specific to patients' status. Recognizes, identifies and interprets serious situations and initiates emergency resuscitative measures such as BLS as appropriate. Provides nursing care to patients based on the provider's plan of care and the physical emotional needs of the patient or caregiver. Maintains a patent airway, administer oxygen, initiate Intravenous fluids, blood transfusions and administer prescribed medications by oral, rectal, topical, inhalation, intravenous, intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes. Instructs/teaches patient or caregiver on health promotion, diagnostic procedures, pre-and postoperative care, expected and possible adverse reaction to medication, acute/chronic disease states as appropriate and use of equipment related to care, as well as prescribed treatment methods/plans. Participates in discharge planning. Collects specimens including venous & arterial blood, urine and monitors body fluids in accordance with Infection Control standards and Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines. Based on size/age/mobility of patient, sets up and operates a variety of specialized equipment appropriate to assigned clinical area such as, but not limited to, traction, splints, cardiac monitors/Automatic External Defibrillators, pulse oximeters, isolettes, breast pumps, electrocardiogram machines, intravenous pumps, compartment pressure monitor, chest tubes, K-pads.  Performs other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

 

EXPERIENCE: One year of professional experience at grade level of KGS-7 or equivalent.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Experience which required application of the professional theories, scientific principles, and practices in the established profession of the position to be filled. Professional positions require professional, rather than technical knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) such as can be gained through intensive college education and training.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have completed a three year/four year course of study in a ROKG authorized or recognized college or university in a field related to the job for which being considered. Applicants must possess a current nurse license issued by ROKG.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: The approval of management panel to determine English conversational skill is required.
